Singer-Songwriter Niall Breslin recently launched a podcast discussing modern life and the impact it has on our mental health.
“Where is my mind?” tackles some common issues like distraction, chaos and managing a busy lifestyle.

The podcast also focuses on techniques to deal with anxiety and depression. Each of the episodes are accompanied by a meditation session that aim to help listeners discover the tools to cope with the pressures they face.
As well as everyday topics the Blizzards’ frontman has promised to explore “everything from neuroscience to the ancient teachings of Buddhist psychology”.
Role model
Bressie has been a positive mental health advocate in Ireland, calling for more openness when discussing mental health issues.
In 2016 he opened up about his own struggles with anxiety and depression in college, questioning the ability of third-level institutions to deal with the problems faced by students.
The singer has been critical of the government’s handling of mental health issues, suggesting more money needs to be invested in counselling in order to help students at most risk of suicide.

The competition
With the success of mindfulness apps like Headspace and Calm it will be interesting to see where Bressie takes his podcast.
In general, people have become much more open when discussing mindfulness and mental health due in part to celebrities like Bressie speaking out about their own issues.
We can expect plenty of people to tune into the podcast to see what the Mullingar man has to say
